But Nobody Stops To Hear
Original Music & Lyrics by Jeremy
Cover Version by Firdaus
See the mannequins on the sidewalks
As the hour of nine looms near
See them hurry see them scurry
See them glance at their wrists in fear
And the old man’s guitar keeps playing and playing
But nobody stops to hear
See the mannequins on the sidewalks
As the hour of nine looms near
Listen Johnny, are you listening?
Can you listen and hear the sound?
Of the music the man is playing
But he’s nowhere to be found
And the old man’s guitar keeps playing and playing
But nobody stops to hear
Listen Johnny, are you listening?
Can you listen and hear the sound?
Tell me what it is you wish for
Tell me what it is you seek
So we’re fighting for the gold I’m told
But then nobody dares to speak
And the old man’s guitar keeps playing and playing
But nobody stops to hear
Tell me what it is you wish for
Tell me what it is you seek
Song Notes (30/8/07)
This song was originally composed by Jeremy. I liked the lyrics so I decided to cover it and present my own version, heh.. As being mentioned by Jeremy, this song is about people being too busy working and not stopping often enough (or at all) to smell the roses and appreciate the beautiful things in life, even little things like the music played by a busker at a train section.
Update (9/10/07): I have also included a 'happier' cover version inside as a lot of people mentioned the first cover is so sad, haha.. =)
Ideal singer for the song: Who else? Bob Dylan of course...
